About
Hi, my name is Kara Wieler.  I am a Southern Manitoba Photographer specializing in wedding/portrait/fine art photography and based in Winkler, Manitoba.   This blog was created so that I could have a place to showcase my work, my passion.  Every image holds a place in my heart.  Take a look around and get a feel for who I am, and how I see.   Please feel free to leave comments or contact me if you are interested in booking me for your next photo session in Southern Manitoba.

It's funny how I never knew who read my blog until I stopped blogging consistently!  It's been a crazy spring, and with the new launch of Jack and Ruby and lots of other work going on, I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like.  Many, MANY people have been reminding me of this!  Thank you all for being such faithful readers!  I so appreciate my readers and fellow photographers and everyone who supports me!  I'll try to be a little more consistent from now on!!!  I have lots of projects to come up here on the blog, so now I just need to find the time to show them to you!!!

Here's Carolyn.  I put up a sneak peek for you all a few weeks ago, but here is the rest of her session!  Carolyn is the winner of my grad contest, and she brought her sister Crystal along to two of our stops along the way.  They are both graduating this month and I wish them all the best in their exciting futures!!!!  I kinda envy where they are right now, some days I would love to be 18 again and see where I would end up if I had a second chance!!!

Carolyn's slideshow can be seen here!

Over the past, oh, I don't know, 6 months, I have been turning down wedding after wedding for 2011.  Well, there's a reason for that!!!  Those of you who know me will be thinking right now that it's because I'm pregnant... well, though I am pregnant, I still intend on working next summer.  The actual reason is that I've been busy planning away with my friend Becky.  We've been planning a new project, a partnership actually.  Becky and I are now going to be doing weddings together.  Yup, that's right!  We are both so excited to work together for ALL of our weddings next year, and hopefully for the years to come!

So, for all you engaged couples still looking for a 2011 wedding photographer, please go visit us at JACK AND RUBY PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!  And everybody else, please go take a look as well!  We've been working hard and are so excited to show off Jack and Ruby to the world!

Stay tuned all summer for many more updates on Jack and Ruby, we've been up to all sorts of shooting and we just can't wait to share it with you!!!!

Holly is a past client from last year, she and her sister Heidi hired me for a totally fun inspired sister shoot.  This year, I got another email from Holly, this time to capture her and her man!  Her husband Phil was such a good sport, over two hours of photos and he was smiling the entire time.  I love guys like that!  They are suuuuuuch a cute couple!  Thanks to both of you for such a great evening.  I had so much fun with you and we had the most fantastic weather, I couldn't have asked for more!!!  All the best to both of you in your adventures to come!

May 12, 2010 // Family
My apologies for the lack of blogging lately everyone!  I have a couple of excuses, but won't bore you with those here!  I'm hoping the weather will start to improve so I can get out and do a little more shooting, but in the meantime here is a super cute family to keep you entertained.  I also have a wedding I am in the process of editing, so hopefully that will be up soon!

I sat down at Meg's kitchen table and almost immediately Cohen was asking me to help him with his socks and shoes.  How cute is that?  I sometimes get nervous for sessions involving children, they are so unpredictable, and what if they hate me, or they're scared of me?!?!  But these two darlings were so outgoing, wanting to hold my hand and show me their back yard and their toys.  I knew it was going to be a fun time!

We headed out to Megan's dad's land, a place her kids just love!  There were horses, trees, lots of grass.... and many, many ticks.  Please don't be offended guys, but looking at these photos still makes me a little itchy!  We had a great time walking around, exploring, and getting some natural shots of the family.  Meg told me she's not into "posey", which was music to my ears because I like children as they are, and don't enjoy trying to get them to sit still for a formal shoot!

I had a great time with you guys, hope you love the little moments I've captured!
